Green Diwali – A Celebration of Light and Responsibility

Diwali, the festival of lights, symbolizes the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. However, in recent years, the celebration has often been associated with excessive pollution caused by firecrackers and wasteful decorations. To restore the festival’s true essence, it is important to celebrate a Green Diwali—a festival that spreads joy while protecting our environment. Students of Deep Public School promised to celebrate this festival in a eco- friendly way.

A Green Diwali encourages the use of eco-friendly practices such as lighting earthen diyas instead of electric bulbs, making rangolis with natural colors, and avoiding firecrackers that pollute the air and cause noise. Choosing eco-friendly decorations, handmade gifts, and reusable materials helps reduce waste and conserve energy.

Celebrating a Green Diwali means spreading happiness, not smoke. It reminds us that the real light of Diwali comes from kindness, love, and responsibility towards nature. Let’s pledge to celebrate this Diwali with awareness and make our surroundings cleaner, brighter, and greener.
